Dear prospective host family,

 

Thank you for your interest in Y.E.S. at MiraCosta College Home Stay Program.

We are college-onsite international student service company.

 

We are seeking for host family for internatioanl students as following requirements,

 

Home Stay Fee

$650 per Month with two meal 

 ( Breakfast & Dinner in weekdays, Breakfast & Lunch & dinner at weekend )

 

$550 per Month without meal

 

Other requirements

-Washer & Dryer -At least 1 time a week.

-High Speed Internet.

-Basic furniture, Bed, Desk, etc.

 

HOMESTAY PROGRAM INFORMATION SHEET

 

Thank you for your interest in hosting a foreign student for the Y.E.S at MiraCostaCollege. We are sure that you will enjoy this cultural exchange experience and will gain a lot of knowledge of the country where the student is from.The following is some information about your responsibilities as a host family in this program and suggestions that will help you to have a good hosting experience.

 

YOUR Responsibilities:

 

 If a student pays you $650 a month, you need to provide two meals a day (breakfast and dinner) on weekdays, three meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) on weekends, holidays and during school breaks.

 

 Your student needs a private room furnished with a bed, a dresser, and a desk.

 

 Internet access has to be provided. You may not charge student for internet fee.It should be included in the home stay fee.

 

 Please show the student where the laundry room is, and how to use the machines.You do not need to do laundry for him/her.

 

 Student is responsible for any damages (personal or property) that he/she incurs.

 

 Participating in religious or political events is strictly up to the students. Please try to avoid any situations that make him/her feel obligated to do so.

 

 Please understand that Y.E.S. will not place students of the opposite sex into a family unless it is a temporary emergency.

 

SUGGESTION

 

 When you receive the name and address of your student form from the Y.E.S.office, please write to the student to introduce yourself and your family. It might be a good idea to enclose some family pictures, too

 

 You may ask the student to help in a reasonable amount of household chores. Regular babysitting is not appropriate.

 

 Please keep close communication with the student.

 

 Please understand that student needs some time to study.

 

 When a problem arises, please try to solve it with the student first. If that doesn’t help, please call us so we can help to solve the matter.

 

 The most important thing of all is to treat the student as if he/she was a memberof your family rather than a family guest.

 

Conflict and communication: We encourage Home stay students to work through issues with their host family directly. This is one of the important challenges presented by the Home stay experience. If a serious communication issue arises, please contact Y.E.S. office at anytime.
